Cape Point Chronicle:
About us
Or rather- me, because…
Cape Point Chronicle is my view on the world from south of the city.
Who is me?
My name is Russell Hepworth and I have been a resident of the far south since 2005 when I took the brave (and some said foolish) decision to emigrate to South Africa.
Why South Africa- and inparticular, the southern peninsula?
Simple, why not! I have been fortunate to travel to some of the most beautiful parts of the world, and believe me there are some stunning places on this planet, but none of them stayed with me quite like our little part of the world. This is an area that is truly blessed, a metropolitan area that rivals any major city on earth, framed by breathtaking mountains, bordered by beautiful ocean.
Come to the south of the city and things get even better, because added to all of the above is a wonderful sense of community.
So what is Cape Point Chronicle all about?
Mainly it is my opinion on things that are happening around us in the deep south, events, natural occurances, issues, news, weather, nature… you name it, if it gets my interest then I will cover it: but I want it to be more than that! Whilst this is my personal forum I welcome with open arms, in fact am looking to encourage, open debate on the issues discussed. You may not agree with me, you may even hate what I write, in which case be constructive, write a comment, or send me an email telling me so. If you have a topic that you think may be of interest then email me and let me know: either write a post yourself or give me the information and I will consider writing it for you.
If you have an event taking place in the coming weeks, let me know and I will try and give it a plug for you, then follow that up with a report (unless I get there myself of course): charity, sports, craft markets- you name it, justlet me know and I will do my best!
